Liberty Groups and Convention of States Project

Good morning!

It has been some time since I last communicated with all of you.  In fact, at the time I was helping Coalition for a Prosperous America try and stop Fast Track Trade Authority and the Transpacific Partnership.  I helped with that effort until I was approached by the Convention of States Project, a project I had some initial reservations about.  But after (seriously) studying the issue my personal reservations were washed away in a sea of historical information.  Once I had digested the information I called COS and said I was in.  And today I believe it is the most important project I've been involved with in my 30 years of political experience.

My name is Ken Mayo, Director of Coalitions for the Convention of States Project.  It's my role to try and establish relationships with good organizations around the country.

We may not know each other personally, but I know of the good work groups like yours have done and are doing in your state and for the country, and  because of that, I'm writing to see if you would consider joining our effort to stop this runaway government.  There is no question we need to do all we can (now) to restrict the power and jurisdiction of the Federal government.

We truly believe there are a few things we can do that would greatly benefit our country, and if you have five or six minutes I would love to share with you who we are and what we are doing, and to see if we might be able to work together.  If so I'd like to explain how, with little effort on your part, we can make that happen.  If you could let me know a couple of times that are best for you I will gladly give you a call. Or you can call me directly at the number below.

Until we connect I'm including two (very brief) videos that are interesting and will give you a quick overview of who we are and what we are doing.  Together they will not take more than 5.5 minutes of your time.  I've also included a recent statement put out by a group of Constitutional Scholars called the Jefferson Statement, and a link to a page where you can see some of the organizations and individuals that have endorsed the project.  And should you want more information I can provide our 22 page Handbook and/or a 322 page Compendium for Lawyers and Legislators that will tell you pretty much everything you want to know about this subject.  After reviewing the (brief) video's, the Jefferson statement and our endorsement please give me a call or let me know when I might be able to contact you.

Here are the videos:
1. (The Problem) - The Convention of States is Here (with Michael Farris) - 2.1 minutes
2. (The Solution) -  produced by our excellent Alabama Volunteer team is here  - 3.2 minutes
3. The Jefferson Statement (a group of Constitutional scholars) is here:
4.  Some of our endorsements can be seen here:    Others are forthcoming.

If you are already aware of COS, like the project and have the authority to sign for your group you can do so here..

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards,

Ken
