President Obama: Big Government Here To Stay Friends, On Tuesday, President Obama gave his annual State Of The Union address to the nation. One thing became clear during his speech: As long as he is President, the era of big government is here to stay. From taxes, to health care, to guns, President Obama is locked in and wants to grab up as much power over our lives as possible. He wants to control us because, like many other politicians in Washington, President Obama thinks he knows how to spend our money and take care of us better than we do! The Contract From America was made by the people and for the people. It is centered on common sense principles of small government, self-reliance, and a reformed tax code. It stands for a return to the constitutional principles that have made our nation the strongest the world has ever known. Since President Obama was sworn in for a second term, we have begun to act and turn our principles into action. Just weeks after the Republicans caved to President Obama's tax increases, the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its latest report, and in it were some staggering statistics. If the CBO is correct, unemployment will be at 8% by the final quarter of 2013 with no help in sight for the next few years. This number was coupled with the CBO's estimate that GDP will only grow by 1.4% this year! Even after the President got what he wanted with bailout money, Obamacare, tax hikes, and financial regulation, we find ourselves in a MUCH worse position than when he took office 5 years ago! It is unacceptable, and we are going to do something about it. We have commissioned our Legislative Writing Committee to get to work immediately in crafting meaningful legislation that will help get us out of our current mess. Their number one task: Repeal of Obamacare; it's one of our biggest spending commitments over the next several years and the issue YOU voted on as the most important. The Next Big Step For The Tea Party Is Here! Friends, Last week Barack Obama laid out his blueprint for the next four years in his inaugural address, and the picture was clear: the era of big government is back. If Obama has it his way, it's here to stay. After four years of reckless spending, leading to record debt, and new data out this week saying that the U.S. economy shrunk for the first time since 2009, it's hard to imagine why the President would want to continue on the same disastrous path. But there is good news; if we band together and unify behind the principles in The Contract From America, we won't have to meet that fate. Our Legislative Writing Committee is prepared to start reaching out to members of Congress to craft the legislation that you voted for in last month's poll: Repealing Obamacare! Our team will also see what other alternatives there are to fight this disastrous bill! Since Obamacare was passed, scores of flaws have been spotted in the legislation and just this week a major "glitch" was detected that will block many working families from receiving health insurance.  This overlooked "glitch" is just further proof at how poorly crafted this legislation is, and the urgent need to repeal it.
