Government is Not the Answer
President Obama has been hesitant to tout his health care plan during his campaign for reelection against Governor Romney. Much of the rationale for this is simple: the American people do not support government-run health care.
When you all voted to craft the Contract From America, you spoke out forcefully to defund, repeal, and replace government-run health care. You realize, along with the large majority of Americans, that when the government gets involved in our health care decisions it will lead to higher costs and a lower quality of care.
We MUST have a free-market solution to attack the problem of rapidly rising health care costs.
In the Contract we state clearly that we will defund, repeal and replace the recently passed government-run health care system with one that actually makes health care and insurance more affordable.
We do this by promoting market competition to create an open and transparent insurance-based health care system that isn't restricted by state boundaries.
By following these principles we will keep American health care the envy of the world while making insurance affordable for all people. Government is NEVER the answer, but the free-market and American enterprise system is!
With your help we will bring that message to all candidates seeking office in 2012 and will not rest until the reforms to American health care, as stated in the Contract From America, are the law of the land!
