We won in the House. Now for the Senate.

Friend: The Obama Administration continues its attack on U.S. sovereignty.   But we had a win last week in the House.  Can you help us cement that win?    The US House of Representatives just passed legislation to cut off funding for Obama's negotiations of any trade and global governance agreement provisions that undermine our “Buy American” laws. We have an exciting opportunity to fix one outrageous aspect of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Trans-Atlantic Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA). Email your senators today and demand that they support defunding secret trade deal negotiations that kill Buy American rules. The 1933 Buy American Act (BAA) generally requires a preference for US-made goods when the federal government spends our tax dollars on infrastructure and other purchases.  Obama's trade negotiators working on the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) are secretly trying to gut "buy American" laws in closed-door negotiations. It's a sneak attack on a 70 year old law and yet another specific threat to our sovereignty. TPP and TTIP would, if administration negotiators get their way, prohibit US taxpayer money from targeting only American goods when the government makes purchasing decisions. We've already won in the House, which passed a Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations bill with the defunding language. With your help, we can log another win when the Senate takes up its appropriation bill!
